Welcome to North Creek Farm, a working horse facility in one of southern New Hampshire's most active horse communities, Deerfield. It is within 2.5 miles of the Deerfield Fairgrounds, host to many local and A rated shows as well as where the extraordinarily popular Deerfield Fair is held each fall.
The main entrance to the farm is via a gated drive, passing by the "roadside pasture" on the right, wrapped in vinyl fencing. The improvements are set back and are barely visible from the road, Route 43, a country highway. The location is ideal, as it is private, yet accessible for clients and boarders.
The highlight of the property is the indoor arena complex that was constructed in the 1980's. The building consists of the riding arena on one end and an attached barn at the other. The barn area offers all the amenities you would expect for your clients, boarders and the horses. There are two aisles, 20 stalls and many services/tack up locations in the U shaped design. One of the perks is a lounge/kitchen with viewing window into the arena. It is equipped with a fridge, microwave and lunch counter - the perfect place for a coffee break or lunch. Three other rooms (two very large and heated) are presently used as tack rooms and grain storage. This design allows for one of the large heated rooms to be used as an office, complete with a separate entry door, if needed.
A unique feature of this building is the expansive second floor accessed by a full staircase just inside the "people" entrance. It could serve an a huge lounge, an auditor area during clinics and more. The bleachers are still here if you want to use them again, although they are stacked in a corner. There is very ample hay/bedding storage in this area as well, much of it over the stalls, creating a nice insulating effect.
Outside around the buildings, there is ample guest and trailer parking along side the arena. A few smaller paddocks keep horses you're going to work in a handy area without having to keep them stalled. The majority of the turnout is to the rear of the property, on rolling land. During the summer, the turnouts are shaded by lovely hardwoods. There is access to Bear Brook State Park from the property! This park is 10,000 and offers groomed trails. This feature is a huge plus for those wanting a low-key, multi-discipline barn.
The present owner had a new home built in 2005. It is a crisp a cape-style home with a delightfully different interior. The living room is large with a fireplace at one end that is also enjoyed from the applianced kitchen. A big island has room for at least 6 diners as well as meal prep. Appliances remain. A roomy 1st floor bedroom has direct access to the full bath. The staircase is to one side of the house, rather than in the middle, allowing an unobstructed flow. Upstairs are two generous bedrooms with good closet space and another full bath accessed by a balcony. Two living room skylights create a wonderful, naturally lit interior on both levels.
