Tammy’s love of horses is a life-long pursuit that began at the age of seven with her first equine, a Shetland pony named Sugar. Sugar quickly taught Tammy that people don’t move horses so much as horses move people. This devotion moved her to the show ring where she started by showing pony hunters. She continued her show career through college where she served as the captain of the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth college equestrian team while simultaneously competing on the New England Morgan circuit on her Courage of Equinox mare.
In 2001 Tammy’s herd prompted her move her to New Hampshire where she purchased a small farm with a Morgan, Belle and her Shetland pony friend, Samson. She continues to be a Morgan and Hunter/Jumper enthusiast and maintains an instructor’s license in the state of Massachusetts. Her current herd consists of an Irish Sport Horse, a couple of cats, a flock of chickens, and her Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Emma.
Tammy plans to spend 2011 mastering her newest endeavors, eventing and foxhunting. She trusts that her new Irish Sport Horse, Friar Tuck, will take to these sports like she has and will take them both to new levels!
Tammy is thoroughly enjoying her “second adult career” in real estate—one that allows her to combine her childhood love of horses with real estate by specializing in farm & equine properties. She comes to Farms & Barns from a life of public service—as a public school teacher for 13 years in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts and a Masters of Education from Curry College.
Tammy looks forward to professionally applying her vast knowledge of horses and farm properties to help you meet your property goals.
