Tammy's Story

Tammy has been with Farms & Barns Real Estate LLC since 2006. She came from a large real estate company and immediately knew that the Farms & Barns niche better fit her. She strived to market herself as a person specializing in farm/horse properties so when Shirley approached her to join the team it was an easy decision. Now, almost 19 years later, Tammy couldn’t be happier with her real estate career. Coming from an education background, with a master’s degree in Elementary Education and thirteen years teaching. Tammy has had much success with Farms & Barns having been a top producing agent sixteen out of the past eighteen years. She works to simplify the process for her clients, is a good listener, and readily shares her broad knowledge of the farm and horse market, as these properties require expertise beyond “regular” real estate. Tammy not only brings business knowledge. She’s been hooked on horses since a very young age. She started by owning an uncooperative Shetland pony, named Sugar, who taught her many things, mostly humility. As her skills improved, she moved on to a dappled gray Connemara pony named Grey Mist, showing in the pony hunter division all over Massachusetts. She was lucky to have a trainer who had many off-the-track Thoroughbreds to ride, giving her countless hours in the saddle re-schooling these beautiful horses to prepare them for their next career. Going forward, the next step up was into the Morgan world where she began riding saddleseat on her Courage of Equinox mare, Miscoe Mussette. She showed on the local New England & Morgan Horse circuits. While in college at UMASS Dartmouth, Tammy was named captain of the equestrian team. She was lucky to ride with some top-notch instructors who were able to bring her up the ranks from Novice, Intermediate to an Open rider her senior year, and each year she competed in the Regional and Zone Championships. Fast forward 30 years, and Tammy returned to the saddleseat show ring with her newly acquired Friesian gelding, Jelko. It’s been an exciting adventure. Besides Jelko, Tammy has a Friesian mare, Lila, and Lila’s son, Wihtgar. As a minted empty nester, her equine partners give her much enjoyment on her off hours. Tammy owns a small hobby farm in central NH with her husband, sons, horses, a cat, named Cowboy, and her two Carolina dogs Piper & Boaty McBoatface. With Tammy’s lengthy real estate career and her knowledge of farms, facilities and country homes, she will help you find what you’re looking for if it’s out there. Selling? She thoroughly understands what your property offers and how to market it most effectively. Read her many testimonials here.
